If you have a watch and you want to change the battery - this is the simplest item to have that will also be a life saver and a time saver too, you just plop in your watch with the back facing upwards, and screw every nob to tighten it and make the watch secure and now you have the easiest time opening the back of the watch and changing the batter - and there is really no fuss at all. You usually have to spend a good $50 to get the battery in your watch changed - and this with a watch wrench costs a fraction of that and takes less time - and you keep it forever - this is a lifetime item.

Most folks purchase this tiny vice to hold a watch while they work on it. For me, that is far too simplistic, as I needed just the right instrument to solidly hold a chronological mechanism while traveling in my time machine. Sadly, I have put many years into my time machine, and although it's fossil fuel powered - it only goes one way in time - forward. Still, this little piece of equipment is perfect for my uses, as it is well built from aluminum.

ORDERED SEPTEMBER 22nd WHAT LOOKED LIKE A GRAY METAL WATCH MOVEMENT HOLDER THAT WOULD HAVE WORKED FOR MY WATCHES. WELL TO MY SURPRIZE I OPENED THE BOX AND INSIDE WAS THE YELLOW PLASTIC ONE 1+3/4"x1+3/4"x1" 2.6ounces. I LOOKED AT WHAT I PRINTED AT CHECKOUT ON MY LASERJET PRINTER,  SE Adjustable Watch Movement Holder Then entered what I printed on checkout in my search browser and my PC brought me right to it on AMAZON showed me the ITEM I ORDERED AND TO UPSET ME MORE I LOOKED AND IT SAID YOU BOUGHT THIS ON SEPTEMBER 22. I MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE GIVEN THE ITEM SHOWN 5 STARS I hope someone at amazon reads this first and explains what the heck happened.

The white pins that hold the movement are manufactured with very large tolerances, as two require a rubber mallet to pound in and two fall out when the holder is turned any way other than right side up - moving pins around to different holes does nothing to combat the issue - two pins are always loose, two pins are always tight.This isn't exactly the Ferrari of movement holders, but that kind of quality check is pretty easy. I had to fabricate new pins myself, which took very little time but underscored how easy this would have been to do right. I understand QC is expensive and time-consuming, but without the pins sticking this is a non-functional piece as tilting it to work on the movement or over-tightening it will send a pin to the ground, twice sending a movement to the table (luckily, I caught it both times and no tools were inside the movement, but it could easily have wrecked one).In the end, though, it's $6 shipped so it is what it is.

No dimensions are listed with the item, so in buying this item you are taking a risk. It is likely to be fine for most ladies watches since they are typically smaller, but it will not fit any of the four watches I own. If the seller had put some dimensions in, the buyer could evaluate whether or not it would be worth it to purchase. For as inexpensive an item as this is, I guess it's not that big of a deal, but be warned that it does not expand enough to accommodate most men's watches.Aside from that IMPORTANT issue, it's constructed well and seems as though it would hold a watch of diminutive size quite well. There's nothing wrong with the design. I cannot comment on how well it holds the watch case because, well, it doesn't hold ANY of my watch cases.Basically, a piece of junk to me.

Perfect little tool to hold watchface when I need to replace spring pin. Makes kife so much easier. Easy to adjust to different sizes. The timing was perfect as I needed this tool two days after it was delivered.

Great for gripping watches while using adjustable watch case wrenches. Hold several shapes by moving pins. Very well made construction. (Tip: I sprayed a little silicone lubricant to both chrome shafts to improve glide) No fear in scratching watch due to plastic body. Nice.
