Ear Gauge Jewelry Options
Gauges are used to describe the volume of the jewelry in thickness. Plugs, tapers and tunnels come in different colors, designs, shapes and gauges. |
Plugs and Tunnel for EarsPlugs that are double flare have a flare at each end. O-rings are not necessary to wear these. Single flare plugs feature a flare at only one end of the plug and no flare plugs are exactly what they are; they are completely straight with no flare. Screw fit tunnels are flared at both ends and one of the ends can be twisted off. These are also referred to as Flesh Tunnels. Ear TapersEar stretching is the process of increasing the ear gauge hole size. Ear tapers are purchased and used to increase the gauges of the ears one size at a time. (making a larger hole in the gauge of the piercing). Always consult with a piercing professional before stretching your ears. Needed to determine what size my ears were at after not wearing any jewelry in them for over a year. This worked great. They seem to be of normal quality for plastic jewelry. The plugs have the little groves for o rings so that's nice. The smallest two gauges didn't come with plugs but that's fine sense they are so tiny anyway.

Two sets of 6's one with no plugs mind you. No 10 gauge no 4 gauge no taper for the 2 gauge and no taper for the 00 gauge... Worst turn out I ever had from amazon. I ordered this same thing in black a couple years ago and had no issues. Pretty disappointed sending it back.

Just a head up to anyone about to purchase these: acrylic is never recommended to stretch. Acrylic is a very porous material that easily traps bacteria so it's more likely to cause infection. However, if you are set on the cheaper acrylic option or you already purchased these, do your best to keep them very very clean. I used acrylic because I was too frugal to purchase the stainless steel and I made sure to keep them clean, however it would be so much easier if I just paid the extra 10-15 bucks for stainless steel tapers and tunnels. You can sill use these to stretch and just get stainless steel tunnels so these mostly don't go to waste. My ears did not fall off and did not become infected, but I was extremely lucky and took a lot of care of my ears.

Not happy that it doesn't include tapers for 00g, and that there are other missing pieces. Otherwise its not too bad of a set but I would not encourage anyone to buy it. It honestly doesn't make sense that it is not a "full" set. How are your ears going to go from 0g to 00g, magic?

Well worth the money! If you bought each of these individually it would cost you 10x more than this package deal. I would recommend this product to anyone looking!
