It fit him nicely, and is a great size. It's not crazy wide and thick like a lot of men's rings. So, it is comfortable for him to wear. He doesn't have small hands, he just not a jewelry fan. I got it as a promise ring to go with my claddaugh. The only thing we didn't like was the design was facing two different ways. When you wear a claddaugh, the direction of the design affects the meaning. That is one thing that should be changed on the design.

This ring is perfect! I had a ring exactly like this that I had gifted to my son when he was 12- he at 23 had taken the ring off at work to was his hands and when he returned to get the ring it had been removed from his station. (He was in school at Aveda) - he was heart broken since he’d had it 10 years. I searched and searched till I found this one and couldn’t quite tell if it was the same size but I knew the pattern was exact. It was like the ring had been found! What a blessing. My son loves this ring. It is substantial feeling and smooth and comfortable to wear. With a slight rounding on the inside. No cutting in- perfect perfect perfect. Good for men and women.

I am assuming that when most people look for a claddagh ring, they are looking to invest in the symbolism that it carries. Now, most people understand that the general purpose of wearing a claddagh ring is to demonstrate, depending on how you wear it, your relationship status. That is what I was looking for, and that is exactly what this ring does not do.I was rather disappointed when my ring arrived to find that the claddagh symbol is imprinted three times around the band IN OPPOSING DIRECTIONS. This obviously makes it impossible to make the heart point solely in one direction or the other, as the band will invariable rotate whilst on your finger. This completely defeated the purpose of the ring for me. The photo should include more than one angle on the ring and/or the description should inform the buyer of the construction of the ring's design.If you don't know/care about the symbolism of the claddagh ring, then you can ignore this review, as it appears to be a decently contructed ring, thus far. (Maybe not worth $50, but that is neither here nor there.) If you are looking for a claddagh ring to wear for it's directionality, look elsewhere!

The ring has 3 hand/heart patterns...1 of them was pointing in the opposite direction from the other 2. So if the ring rotated slightly the heart would be pointing in the direction opposite the intended and send an incorrect message. It also did not have a black finish as clear as pictured. For the price paid I was not expecting either flaw and thus returned it.
