These pearl earrings are so gorgeous they're stunning! I never expected them to be this pretty. I have a strand of real pearls (I just can't believe these are real) and these earrings are just as lustrous as my $800 pearl necklace. I was simply looking for some pearl earrings to wear until my husband buys me some good ones for my anniversary, but these may do just fine...They dangle from a fishhook backing about 1/2 inch from the ear lobe. The backings are thin not thick like some I've seen, so they don't hurt. As I said the freshwater, cultured pearls (this is how they are described) are shiny and lustrous: what's the catch?? I only paid $12 for them! I say go for it. Unless I come back with an update that says they fell apart, then go for it ladies, or boyfriends; husbands...They came in a lovely black jewelry box wrapped in a plastic bag, with a cloth for cleaning, very nice I think, obviously the seller cares. Delivered within 2 days of ordering with my Amazon Prime. VERY pleased so far. I do recommend.Update: I have worn these for a week now. I put them on when my ears had gotten infected from another pair of earrings that claimed to be sterling silver and that I paid $32 for at a very high end place. After I put these pearls on my ears healed and I've had no further issues with the infection; no redness, oozing, (I know, gross) or puffiness. So these must be the real thing! Twelve dollar earrings verses $32, I can't believe it...So if you're looking for some nice sterling silver pearls, real pearls, for a very inexpensive price these are for you. Don't hesitate!
