I liked this very much in the product photo and the price was great! When it arrived, it came with the pendant separate from the necklace part. The necklace part was a fatter cord with the rust-colored piece and a thinner string just open on the ends. I didn't want to just tie the pendant to the necklace (although that would have probably been fine), but I wanted a bead. I happened to have loose jade beads (awaiting a stringing project!) so I just took one that seemed to match as best I could. The hole in my head was small, so I struggled with getting both tails of the thread through it. After some poking and swearing, I got it. The I put both tails through the pendant, and just wrapped/coiled the string around and around itself (like you do with a tassel) and pulled the ends through the wrapping with a embroidery needle. I tolk a close up a you could see what I mean. It probably could be neater, but since it is just wrapped and tucked, it could be unwound if I feel like doing it again.The necklace cord must be joined under that rust-colored piece as there is no fastener on the top it's just solid all around. I may (some day) add a fastener by cutting it an crimping one on so that the necklace is more adjustable in length.I did take a star since I needed to have my own bead and to basically make the pendant. I could have also used jump tags so it could be easily charged to other necklaces (it is sort of tied on right now and not changeable without unwinding and all that.
