I will not swear this is really 14k gold plated (I don't know if I'm wrong, but color of gold seems a tad on the "copper" side). But, it could be. 🤷♀️I also cannot say if it's real onyx (but that's because I haven't owned an onyx piece since I was in my early 20s, well over 20 years ago... so I'm not an onyx expert by any means).Absolutely true to size.The ring is not sterling silver with gold plate, so I imagine that will cause plating to wear/come off quicker.I think mine was on sale because it was a damaged return (it has a scuff mark on the onyx only noticeable on close inspection). Not a big deal to me. It's not noticeable when I wear it, and it's still a beautiful ring, so if I got a discount thenWOot woOT.The design? This ring is seriously comfortable. Lines are smooth and low profile, so you hardly know it's there, because it's not rubbing your other fingers or scratching. It also does not "roll" much. But, if you aren't wearing a good fit then it might.I have bought many rings/earrings from this brand and they are all beautiful and unique. I cannot comment on longevity for any of the products, because I only discovered them months ago AND I wear jewelry as accessories - meaning I don't wear my pieces 24/7. For example, I bought this to go with a couple "all black" outfits I have. Because of that alone they will have a longer life vs wear and tear daily. I also don't get my jewelry wet (shower, pool, etc). And I do not put on lotion when wearing jewelry (do it at night when you sleep, not right before putting on metals). It's also best not to put perfume where jewelry will be. If I'm going to wear bracelets, I don't spray my wrists, but might spray my "elbow pits."With proper care I'm sure you'll have a lot of use with this ring. Cleaning it might be a pain (nooks and crannies in the design) but this is why I invested in a sonic machine.
