This thing looks amazing. I got it to hold my metal pirate coins for Rum & Bones, and this fits the game unbelievably. It look like it was made for it. Yes, it's small... I'm probably the only person here who wishes it was actually just a touch smaller than it is, to fit in the box better... but, I've managed it... barely.My son has also expressed interest in keeping his little keepsakes in it ("gold" dollar coins from the tooth fairy, etc) so I may have to buy another one. Really happy with this little purchase... it's beautiful.

My 7 year old son, who is into all things Pirate, adores this little treasure box! It is a heavy, sturdy little box (check dimensions as it is a small size). Looks just like the photo, and I am super pleased with it. But I would designate this as a keepsake box, not a "toy" as it is not designed for "play" per se, as the hinge on the back is small and simple. Rough play by a child will certainly break it right off. My son has been heavily instructed to open and close very carefully, and not to hold it by the lid. So far, so good.Also, when opened, the box will tip over backward if not full of something rather heavy. The lid is heavy. In fact, I would not recommend leaving the box open with an unsupported lid, as, again, the lid is heavy and the hinge is very basic. A sturdier hinge would improve this item, but I understand it is designed as ORNAMENTAL, not for continuous opening and closing. So I still give it a high rating as it is a wonderful item if used as designed and not expected to withstand heavy play.

Very well made little chest.....little being the operative word. Much smaller than I imagined, even with the measurements. However, it is very detailed and has an interesting if not ominous look to it. My granddaughter likes it but I think she was hoping it would be larger. It arrived packaged well and on time, so we are pleased.

The box itself is very nice, just didn't realize from the picture or either I didn't read it carefully that it was so much smaller than I had expected. The size was very disappointinng.

Our toddler recently became obsessed with pirates. We got married in November and our toddler requested a pirate chest to carry our rings in. This chest is sturdy it was dropped multiple times with no issues. The style is as represented in the pictures.

Arrived very late, was glued shut, took me awhile to pry open! Inside is coated with a black flacky Powder! Made a total mess when pried open. Black powder everywhere! Took me a while to totally remove the junk inside the chest! ! The outer part of chest is decorated nice. My granddaughter will like it! Worth the money...NO!!

I love being able to search Amazon and find just the right thing and to get it so quickly was an added bonus. This treasure box is going to be filled with special mementos for a US Navy sailor who is having a milestone achievement. The box is heavy - sturdy and the details and craftsmanship are superb! I wish it was a little taller because I have a larger item that is going to be placed inside, but I am still able to make it work. I highly recommend people spend the time to get a ruler and follow along with the dimensions given so they order the right item - but if you are looking for something for a military man - this is a must get!

It is very cool looking but very small and one of the lid hinges is installed crooked - doesn't look like it will wear very well & will probably break easily.
