Bought these for gem display. I have a few 40+ karat stones (not worth a fortune but still pretty.) that would keep the Latch from staying closed. I have a few emeralds that scratched the glass pretty badly when I closed the lid also.

This rectangular box opens and closes smoothly. It matches the product description. Genuinely hard to light as there’s no room within it for an led. You’ll have to light it from above.

Just arrived today and these are fantastic cases. Not only is the metal heavier (sturdier) than I anticipated but the chrome finish is a nice touch as I was expecting a brushed appearance like most other models I've seen. Highly recommended for small rough or cut stones, coins, probably philately!

The top opens easily when unlocked, and closes securely. I noticed my diamonds did stick to the display glass instead of staying nestled in the black velvet- so open with caution. I feel like this is a safe option for storage and it will help me remember what I have.

This thing is neat. It's not the best I've ever seen, but it holds my gemstones in place easy enough and makes sure nothing spills all over the place. it's easy enough to use, and latches securely. Not bad, but probably not professional quality.
