I used these as tongue rings, but after one day, the metallic red balls had most of the color rubbed off. And because they were in my mouth, that meant I swallowed the red paint/outer covering. I took a tool and was able to scrape away the outside of the black textured balls, so I'm sure the same thing would eventually happen with them too.
