Keep in mind that this itself is a pretty difficult piece in general to put on, so if you don’t have patience or if you get easily discouraged don’t bother buying this type of piercing. As other reviews have said, when it arrives the ball IS hard to get out but that can be fixed by opening up the hoop a little bit (I.e grab scissors or anything that’ll fit in the hoop and gently open the hoop) and the ball will just fall out. Don’t try forcing it out because you risk the chance of the ball flying out and having to search for it.The bead IS pretty small, but I think it’s a perfect size for a piercing, if it were any bigger and it would look weird.Getting the ball in could be tedious work, but to save time I recommend practice putting the ball in as it is, before putting it in your piercing of choice. personally, I tested out how to put the ball on before putting it in my helix such as how hard I should push when I got the ball to line up with the hoop. My piercing is a few months old but forced pressure does easily irritate it, so If it needed too much pressure by my standards, I would open up the hoop a bit and if I deemed it too loose I would tighten it. With practicing, it took me about 10-12 minutes to get the little ball in.

Update: I have worn this every day since I got it and I have no complaints. I hated how small it was at first, but I love it the more I wear it. I couldn't imagine wearing one any bigger now.It is beautiful and I love the way it looks. It's just really small and kind of uncomfortable to wear as a septum. I think I may just use it for another piercing.

Very pretty but I haven't been able to get the ball on it- it's so small and the holes are very tiny- hoping to get help from someone with tiny fingers and great eyesight

This looked super cute in my helix but it got irritated / infected (I have a nickel/copper allergy so it was either that or something else about this ring). I didn't find the bead any harder to place than other captive bead rings I've worn, but the opening IS really small so it was a bit of a painful squeeze to get the ring into place. Really wish I could've kept wearing this because it's so cute, but it was just too irritating :/

Looks cute but the little stone is too small I guess because it fell out after a few days

I received the ring far before my piercing needles, and I was so excited! It was beautiful and very well made. It was a little difficult to get the ball into its clasp, but I chocked that off to it being new, and this being my first suspended ball clasp ring, I figured it was supposed to do that. I wore it without the ball as a fake septum ring for a few weeks while waiting for my piercing needles to come in and it was beautiful! Minimal, and very flattering. I received many compliments. The trouble started when I actually got my septum pierced and tried to put it in the hole. The curve of the ring, while it was perfectly sized for my face, was much too tight of a curve to make it through the hole. I couldn't get it out the other end of my septum (maybe I have a thick septum? I'm not sure). It's a beautiful piece, so I ended up bending it into an open teardrop shape to straighten one side of the ring so I could push it straight through. (Pic included) It was difficult to bend, which is a good testament to quality, and didn't crack (as a fake would) or get any imprints from the pliers, which was surprising. It's definitely real metal. I wish I didn't have to bend it, but it was necessary to fit it into my nose. :/I'm probably going to bend it back into its original shape when the hole heals, and FINALLY get to put the opal in, but for now, I'm liking the asymmetry. It's staying in well in that shape too, which is important.Overall, it's a good piece, very high quality and absolutely stunning, but it's a bit too curved to get through the hole in my septum. Since it's my first ring, I can't tell if I need a bigger diameter or if it's a problem with the curve of the ring. So my one star off is because I'm not sure if that's my fault or not, and so far I haven't been able to enjoy it precisely as intended because of it. Hope this helps!

Note to anyone else who intends to use as earrings: read description entirely rather than skim like I did! They are sold individually, so I ended up making 2 purchases rather than buying a quantity of 2 to be delivered simultaneously. That said, I love these earrings. Appearance is exactly what I was looking for, subtle, stylish & classy. They don't cause any allergic reaction, which is great if you're prone to such things (I am). The small size makes it a bit fiddly to insert initially on an earlobe - it would undoubtedly be easier in an area that's more cartilage. But the snug fit has made it extremely difficult for my toddler to get a tearing grip on them, so again I got exactly what I wanted from this product. Highly recommend!

It’s hard to put these captive beads in, but once in they are super cute ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I had mini pliers and another person to help me. So far so good, but I’ll come back if for some reason it breaks off or when I change jewelry (to let you all know the ups and downs!)
