It's a nice look but definitely a lower-end piece of casual jewelry. It is really the thinnest layer of mother-of-pearl covered in plastic resin. Also, my earrings fell strangely. I had to re-adjust the wires so that the earrings hang down and not in. The construction is sturdy--the teardrop won't detach from the wire any time soon. The earrings come with backs that are very large and ruin the look of the earring. Nice thought; wrong for this earring. Still, nice for what it is. Comes packaged nicely, so appropriate for an inexpensive gift.
