I wish they did a better job at painting the leaves and I wish the hooks on them hung in opposite directions- that would have been nice too. Now that I really look at them, I wish they put a jump hoop on the charm and then the fish hook earring on the jump hoop so the apples face forward and you can actually see the leaves facing the right way. Maybe this is what throws me off, they put them together backward. I do not like them as much as I would if these issues weren't there. Especially since they are costume jewelry, they should have executed these to make them beautiful to wear.Made of brass, if you're not aware. Coat with 1-2 coats of clear nail polish to avoid any allergic contact if you wish to wear them, or take them off the original fish hooks and buy some real gold-plated sterling silver and hang them up with jump hoops between the charm and the fish hooks so they lay proper and these will be better wearable if you are handy with making jewelry or fixing it yourself. I do this sometimes to make my jewelry last.Wipe down with a soft cloth damp or dry after each use. Wash with mild soap and water and a soft toothbrush on an as-needed basis, and dry right away. Avoid contact with water. Avoid contact with chemicals such as perfume, body spray, hair spray, insect repellent, lotion, etc. to keep the finish lasting longer.Maybe I got the bad pair, but if you do order you might have to fix them to your likes. I ordered watermelons as they resemble the pink lady apples that I love. I think that these are real stones used, and I really do wish they had used sterling silver with or without gold plating, as they would have been more valuable and longer lasting. That said, treat them as your favorite costume jewelry, proper care creates longevity.
