The media could not be loaded.  I seriously cannot overstate how great of a purchase this piece of jewelry is. In the 20 years I've been married, and my 13 years of having girls, I've purchased a TON of necklaces and other jewelry. I've never had a piece immediately wow me like this one has. I really hope the video I've attached gets across how great it looks, but the size, design, and finish are just perfect. Even the included chain greatly exceeded my expectations of jewelry in this price range.And, as an added bonus, the necklace also has a safety pin embedded so it can be attached as a broach/pin in addition to being a necklace.I normally find at least one thing to dislike about anything I purchase and I don't believe I've ever gushed in a review like this, but the lack of a con and my delight are completely warranted. This necklace is fantastic and I just wish they made more designs of a similar style so I could get one for each of my kids and wife.

I had such high hopes, and was anticipating being wowwed when this product arrived, but sadly, it’s only mediocre. There was actually a chip in the side of the shell, and some scuffs on the surface, which was supposed to look smooth. Because I had purchased this to give as a gift, I am going to try to exchange it, and hope that the replacement will be a better quality. But it took longer than usual to arrive, and now I’m concerned that it’s replacement won’t arrive in time for my daughters birthday.

This, as you know, is half of an ammonite fossil, highly polished and with the clever nautilus design added on in stainless steel. As an actual fossil, each one will be different. The one I got is deep reddish brown for most of the chambers, with light brown shell demarcations. As indicated in the product listing, this is quite large, over 2.5 inches tall. You can wear this either as a necklace, with the included chain (very solid!) or as a pin.Actual nautilus have something like 90 legs, so the legs part of this is not quite a nautilus and is maybe more like a squid, but I'm okay with that. This is a clever and fun piece of jewelry and solidly made.
