About the Artist

Neeru Goel (left), the artisan behind N OVICA Multi-Gem Reconstituted Turquoise .925 Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace, 'Misty Green Forest' , is the creator of many other unique, handcrafted jewelry items sold by NOVICA.Hi! My name is Neeru Goel and I was born on September 19, 1960. I spent most of my childhood in Kolkata, a metropolis in West Bengal. Collecting jewelry and gemstones has been my passion ever since childhood. I have been greatly inspired by my grandmother who used to look into each and every detail, from how jewelry is made to what had been used to make the jewelry. It feels great to see my products being admired by other people and I hope with time my products will be admired and purchased not only by my people but also by people from outside my country. I believe my dream will come true through this esteemed company.

About NOVICA

NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, works together with talented artisan designers around the world to produce stunning, keepsake treasures. Our mantra is to spread global happiness, so rest assured - we’ll do everything we possibly can to ensure you’re a happy customer.

We CONNECT artisans to a global marketplace of socially conscious customers:
Artisans from around the world (many living in rural communities) don't have the means to sell their work on the international market. NOVICA gives them a free platform to do this, and reach customers on a global scale. Our teams of local art experts based in every region, provide artisans with all the backup they need. Neeru Goel (pictured above), the artisan behind this and many other special pieces, works with the NOVICA regional office in India.

We EMPOWER artisans to build a sustainable business from their craft:
We operate a completely transparent system where artisans have all the control. They are free to raise or lower their own prices, can withdraw their products at any time, and can even put their items on sale.

We PRESERVE ancient artistic traditions for future generations to enjoy:
Local sourcing teams in every region are tasked with finding the most unique and precious art traditions around. We look for originality, quality of workmanship, and pieces we know our customers will love. In the past, artists have been forced to give up their art in favor of a more lucrative career. NOVICA allows them to carry on with their craft, as there is now a platform from which they can operate a sustainable creative business.
