Rena was born on October 11 as the third of five children. His father is Made Beratha and his mother is Ketut Sukarti. Young Rena started to learn wood carving when he was in the third year of elementary school. His grandfather, an architect of traditional Balinese buildings who is also a senior carver, gave much support to the boy's carving and jewelry development. After graduating from elementary school in 1983, Rena's father introduced him to a famous silversmith in his village and young Rena began learning to craft silver jewelry on Sundays. Making use of his carving ability, he brings it to his silver work. He believes that one day his silver crafting will invite the interest of customers worldwide.

I am a Novica fan. I buy most of my jewelry and gifts from this hub of artisan jewelry makers. Typically every item purchased has been excellent. I had been eyeing these hoops for a while and finally pulled the trigger to purchase them. When I received my package, one hoop was out of the plastic envelope and sadly the post was bent. I was able to straighten it out but it really saddens me when you spend money on an item and it arrives with obvious known damage. So going forward with purchases from Novica will be met with hesitation.

These earrings are such good quality I know I will be able to wear them for a very long time! I first noticed the weight of the earrings: they are not heavy, but are solid. I knew immediately they are not the usual cheap hollow earrings. And I searched far and wide for a straight 'post' as the curvy ones hurt when I put the earrings in.The packaging was beautiful, arriving in a pretty small drawstring bag to store them in and included a high quality card describing the earrings and the artisan. Nice touch!

Straight post!!!!! I have been looking and looking for a straight post on hoop earrings for quite some time now. I have seen the "straight" posts that are quite thick, rectangular looking - way too thick and painful for my ears. These are straight up normal straight posts on these hoop earrings. The shipping was extremely fast (got it the next day) and the packaging was done very well. My earrings arrived in a pouch, in a bag, in a bag, within another bag, separated by a card telling me about my earrings. Unique packaging, I enjoyed my experience opening the pouch and reading the little message. I left the earrings in all day and they were very light, unlike most hoops that are heavy. My ears did not get that ball from low quality earrings, they didn't feel irritated at all. Thank you for a quality product!
