The media could not be loaded. I read a couple of reviews before requesting this because I thought people might simply be uninformed about the way sterling silver can present itself. Nope. One thing people can do is paint something black and then wipe it off. This creates dark shadows where the silver has been carved. It would be great on something like this with such detailed carving. However, there are parts of the bottom of the ring that aren't painted. Also, the dark stuff hasn't been wiped off at all. It's just dark. I got black crud on my hand when handling it, so I tried scrubbing the stuff off. That didn't work. I even put it through my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner without success. It's not a dark plating, as there are parts that look mostly like silver. Or, if it is dark plating, it's really poorly executed. Take a look at the video.It's a phenomenal spinner. It spins for a really long time, even when you're wearing it. That was why I was willing to try so many things to make it wearable.

We love the tree of life and its symbolism and I was looking forward to this ring. Imagine my disappointment when I open the box to find a black ring! You can’t even see the tree or any of the craftsmanship of the ring. No where did it say this was a black ring. It was supposed to have an engraving and you can’t see that either. The tree part spins round and round which is cool and would be nice on a 925 sterling silver ring!
