I review a fair bit of moissanite for this platform, and generally have had good things to say. Here recently everybody and their cousin wants to call moissanite "lab diamond," which is a flat-out lie. Lab diamonds are carbon, just like natural diamonds that come from mines. They are literally diamonds. Moissanite is similar to diamond chemically and physically, but it's a separate gemstone. Moissanite is silicon carbide, which is just slightly less hard than diamond (about a quarter point difference on Mohs) and actually more sparkly because of higher refractive index. They do, however, have the same thermoconductive speed, which is why the first-line diamond tester, a thermo pen, can't tell the difference between moissanite and diamond. (They are absolutely distinguishable by other tests. They will not be confused by a reputable jeweler and certainly a seller knows what they're selling.)That is the case with these earrings, too. They pass the thermo pen with no problems - at least the center stones do - meaning that I'm comfortable confirming for you that they're moissanite. I can't make any representations about the halo stones simply because of the size. The probe on the thermo pen just won't read those tiny little stones because touching metal invalidates the whole thing. There's just not enough face area for the probe to rest without bumping metal.The posts are marked 925 and the earrings do not react to a magnet. These do not come with actual earring backs, but you get the rubber and metal ones (the super cheap ones) instead. That's not a great look and I'd recommend replacing those, ideally with something that has some surface area. I prefer discs or similar for all studs - they just look better at any size when they're better stabilized.As a general matter, other than playing fast and loose with the terminology, these appear to be what they claim to be. The fast and loose terminology, though, is enough to confuse folks, and that's absolutely not okay. 3.5 stars, and they'd be looking at probably 4.5 stars absent the deliberate linguistic gymnastics.

Moissanite EarringsI love these earrings. They shine beautifully with more style and dimension than I was expecting. The ads photos don't really capture the wow factor. My pictures don't either. But in real life these earrings are so beautiful. They are also very easy to wear. You'll even forget that you have them on. The posts are nice and long without poking into your head. And the backings are secure. However, the backings are disappointing. They are tiny butterfly backs encased in silicone. While they do keep the earrings in place, they seem cheap. Also, I believe that an ads pictures should show you exactly what you are going to receive. This ad shows only one earring back in the photos. While it is a silicone back it's not the type that I received. I did receive backings of a nicer quality though. If the ad had a disclaimer saying that the backings may vary, then I wouldn't have an issue with the difference. I took one star off for the backings.

These are very nice earrings. I love moissanite jewelry. It has even more sparkle in my opinion, and it fits within my budget, whereas, diamonds do not. The posts are not irritating my ears when I wear them, so at least I know they are not just cheap metal of some sort. Any posts that are made with something super cheap as the post always leads to an infected or irritated ear piercing. These have a lot of sparkle, and I love that I can dress them up, or dress them down, and they look amazing both ways. They have tons of sparkle and no one will ever know that they aren't a "real" diamond.

I have another pair from a different company that came so giftable that I've bought another pair. This pair, while beautiful and sparkly, is missing the extras my other pair came with and I will wear them but wouldn't order a pair as a gift. They came with the outer box beat up, covered in a large sticker that said they were from China. Not a problem but not very presentable either. The inner box is a dark blue ring box, the earrings in plastic zip lock bags. That's it. Nothing explaining what they are or anything else. Not even an earring box. A RING box. The earrings deserve better, as they are lovely.
