So layered means 2 separate necklaces, and you get the main necklace with the stone and then a secondary necklace to wear in top of it. They don't like together so you just have to style it yourself which is simple enough. The stone itself isn't very large but you don't always need to stand out to make a statement. When it does shine it shines bright. The chains are both dainty and they fit nicely.For the price it's a good value and makes a great gift. I would definitely recommend it.
