I use tie bars because my neck is of a size that many ties are not long enough for the tail to reach the loop on the back of the front part of the tie. While I'm not too fussy about my tie moving around a bit, I do not at all enjoy having the tail stray out from behind the tie.I bought this tie bar because the alligator clamp-style tie bars I own often prevent my tie from lying flat against my shirt. This tie bar will not give you any such problems. As other reviews have noted, it does take a bit of work to get it positioned on your tie and shirt just right. The bar has a tight grip, so you have line up the front of the tie, the back of the tie, and the shirt all just right, then hold them tightly while you slide the tie bar onto each piece so that they don't shift. Once on, the tie bar is not going to move. Period. Very good hold.I bought mine in gunmetal gray and I love the color. It's very sharp. It has a polished finish and I would say will match titanium or tungsten metals nearly perfectly. It's just a hint darker than your typical "silver" tie bar.I wear 2-2.5" ties, and this tie bar suits them quite well.Overall, this tie bar is exactly what I wanted. Five stars.

Really good quality

It looks pretty nice. It definitely has a firm hold. Maybe a little too firm... It is a little difficult to get on. But, once it's on, it doesn't move! So that's almost like a pro and con all in one. It works well for slim ties but not for regular ties. I'll try and get a picture of it posted in the near future. I've used it a couple times now and really like it.If it had a little more give to it or just was easier to get on, I would have given it 5 stars. But alas, is anything ever perfect?I will say, this is my one and only tie clip. I've never had a different one or tried any others. I bought this one initially because I had a bunch of skinny ties I just got and wanted to keep them out of the sink when I was washing my hands after using the toilet. It does that well! hahah! All in all, I recommend this clip for dudes who wear skinny ties and want to add just a touch of sleekness and keep their ties out of the sink.I can confirm the- Solid Metal Construction- 1 5/8" Long - 3/16" Wide- Made From A Single Piece of Metal- No Breaking and Guaranteed To Last (so far so good!)- Material: Brass with Anodized Finish (it seems like it)- Perfect Size For Slim/Skinny Tie (yes, not good for any other size tie in my opinion)This review was by CJ, the husband.

Much smaller than traditional tie clips and not very durable

Exactly what I was looking for to go with my skinny ties. Solid build, perfect size and looks great.

I used this to hold up my shirt collar since I didn’t like being able to see my undershirt above the neckline of my actual shirt. The clip would have been on my neck like a piece of jewelry which is probably why it has tarnished. Over time, the silver wore off and left a copper colored mark where the metal touched my skin. I just wish it could have stayed silver for longer. Although if you were to use this as an actual tie clip you would probably find it more effective. The clip itself is very tough and can probably hold a tie in place very well.

This is a really nice, understated tie clip that does its job well without being gawdy and without robbing you blind. I guess I'd describe my personal style as professional meets punk, and for that style the look is just perfect. I'm not sure that it would be my first choice if my style was more colorful or flashy, but I think it could work well in most styles nonetheless. Get one, put it between your 3rd and 4th buttons, give the portion of your tie that falls above the clip a little slack and a pop, and clip the whole tie to your shirt. A $10 investment just made you look at least $100 better.

Love this this bar. Has a shinny finish. Perfect fit for what I call "mid sized" ties. Not those big bulky classic ties but not necessarily skinny ties. The dimensions keep the tie bar from taking over the outfit but is enough to complement your watch and belt. Functional. Fits the tie, the back of the tie and the shirt all in one. Easy to slide on and lays flat unlike those with the clip on the back.
