UPDATE: I took a closer look at the chain when I had a chance in good lighting and whereas I said the chain end caps were changing color, I know see that the whole chain is changing color. It looks like brass color is showing now, so I don't know how much this is stainless steel. Perhaps parts are stainless since there is a security chain that prevents unclasping, or the clasps and those haven't changed color. For that reason you should be mindful of this if you are looking to order this chain. The pendant is still pristine.I have been looking for a men's chain to wear for a while. I wanted something that was good looking and not flimsy and at the same time not feminine. That being said, having a pendant or something meaningful would be pretty cool. I wasn't sure about this setup at first but when I got it and wore it for a while, it really grew on me. The chain is not thin at all and has a good heft about it. It's not a thick flat herringbone chain, but the pattern makes it feel round with small flat edges. I like that it feels smooth against my skin. The stainless steel is reassuring as I sweat a bit when working out and the chain would last longer. The added bonus is that the stainless is not terribly expensive so if I lost the chain it's not a huge loss. The American flag pendant with initial is a nice touch. It too has a good weight to it and the etching is nice. I like the non-ostentatious nature of the pendant and it looks just the right size so it's not too showy.The only drawback of this setup is that the ends of the chain do not appear to be all stainless steel. The end links are turning a brass color. It's not a big deal since I don't mind it, but if you are expecting a clean stainless steel look throughout, you may or may not be okay with this. Overall though, I like the way it feels on my neck and the combination of the chain and pendant is a nice pair.
