First of all I ordered the 1B version but received the 8 which is the gray watch with the top green lcd color, not bad anyways. Now to the review, I decided to purchase this watch for the eye candy which I love how it looks and I need a G-shock for durability, etc. The watch is made of plastic but feels very sturdy, pressing the buttons is really simple and no need for manual is you have experience with G-shocks.In my opinion and for what I use the watch the only thing missing, is tough solar which I have no Idea why Casio did not include this feature with the watch. The vibe alarm is a nice feature and the majority are getting the watch for it, I have no use for it but can comment.Vibe Alarm is not strong enough to wake you up from deep sleep, if you happen to play soccer, football, etc. you might not feel it, you can also change the vibe feature and use the regular beep instead. Vibe Alarm can be useful when timer is done, any alarm set or hourly signal. And you do not want to disturb people around you while daily activity or for preference.Beeping Sound is moderate and not much to say about that, Stopwatch can measure up to 999 hours which I have not triedTimer, this a feature I can not live without. Having the ability to set also seconds is a plus, with my Riseman I was not able to do so. For example I have 10 minutes before I do a task which demands to be completed with perfection of time, I can set the timer for 9 mins 25 secs and come back in order to finish the job in time. I use it dailyWorld time is nice but I have no use for it, also can use my iPhone for that.So Pros:* Big face, easy to read time or function indoor/outdoor* Very bright light for a watch* Solid built, can't go wrong with G-shocks* Vibe alarm, I don't use it but is a nice solid feature and in certain occasions I might use it* Dedicated timer button from timekeeping mode* Lightweight* Nice lookingCons* No tough solar, but has a nice CR2032 battery which will last at least 4 years with regular useOther comments: Some people have complained about the wings that helps keep the wrist in place, if this is an issue for you, you could just remove it using a small phillips screwdriver. Some others complain about the light being too bright, actually I prefer it this way and I am very light sensitive and have to use sunglasses even when is extremely cloudy. Looking directly to the watch at 3 or 5 am when pitch black is no problem and it does not bother my eyes.

This watch is absolutely fantastic! I always wanted a G Shock and I did a ton of research before buying. The look, the features, everything was right, so I bought. I’ve been extremely happy. The buttons are not too hard to press, the text is clear and reads easy even though it’s a negative display. In my opinion, the negative display adds a rich feel to the watch and looks awesome! It doesn’t get the time by radio or have the solar charge feature, but everything else it does do is a really good trade-off and really makes up for those lacking features. The battery, so I’m told and have read, will last five years. And the watch has an auto-calendar that is accurate up to 15 seconds off a month and will be good until 2099 when set. Love the 5 alarms. The vibration feature might be my favorite feature. It’s not a cheesy vibration either. Feels like it has a nice subtle motor that is of quality. As big as the watch is, it is light and wears really nice. The world Time is amazing. The light to make the face visible in dark settings works really well. I love that you can set the light to stay on for different lengths of time. You can even set the light to automatically turn on when you raise your wrist to check the time. All-in-all, I’m not sure you can do any better when it comes to getting the most bang for your buck with this watch! Casio G Shock hit this one out of the park! I added bullbars to mine because it adds a little extra protection (not that it reallys needs it at all), and I love the look it adds to it. Hope this helps when making your decision.

Wow, this has got to be one of the coolest watches out there! (: It has a good decent number of useful modes to use, such as stopwatch with splitter, timer, alarms, 100 city timezones mode, vibration that can be used with alarm, you can mute the watch so it doesn't beep and annoy people, it also has auto-backlight where you can simply swing your arm up 45 degrees and the watch will light up automatically for you; so many cool features, in my opinion. It's also water-resistant, but I don't know if it can handle being under big depths underwater, nor tolerate saltwater, so it's better safe than sorry and keep it away from those potential dangers; however in general, washing your hands with it should probably be fine.Overall, the sleek n' slick display is easy to read and see, the gold number digits and words are rich and vibrant, no problems with seeing in low light conditions, the vibration capability, which to me, serves as like a excellent silent mode function of the watch, is perfect for libraries, quiet places, meetings, movies, also the fair amount of useful options, like the timezone mode, is great for traveling, as for the stopwatch and timer, is great for doing activities at given times, sports, etc and of course, checking time and date, makes this watch really stand out. Alright, alright, I'm not going to brag anymore about this watch too much now lol, sorry, but I think it's one of the best G-Shocks out there, in my opinion. And last but not least, you gotta love the stealthy-black look!!!! (: SERIOUSLY, if you're a fashionable person like me, this watch will very likely catch some attention, look bad#&$ cool, and awesome in public haha. I got it here on Amazon for $90.00. Well worth the money and paying for! I'm really happy with this watch! (Thanks GMT Time! The seller who sold this watch to me plus free shipping)
