The watch Hamilton should have built.

Love this watch. Has all the features that I am looking for in a field watch. Automatic, water resistant to 200M due to a screw down crown, sapphire crystal and made of titanium. Just buy it. Enough said.

I wanted a nice automatic field watch with good specs, and for a long time hamilton khaki watches were the only viable option, but this timex in unbelievable for the price!Better/more lume on the dial, been keeping perfect time for days for me now, titanium case, sapphire crystal, and 200m water resistance with a screw down crown! And I love looking at the see through case back. It feels better than a khaki to me, a little less fancy in its design, but definitely sturdy and I wanted something for hiking/camping so I like that. And if you want a hamilton khaki in titanium it’s over a $1,000!! And it’s barely even splash resistant. You couldn’t ward that in the rain, but you can go swimming with this timex on.Only things to note are that the strap isn’t awful, but I’ll be changing it. It breaks in better than you think though. And the rotor in the case is louder than any I’ve seen before, but it’s not grinding or hanging up, and I’ve heard that about this watch since before picking one up.Doesn’t bother me and it’s only noticeable in a silent room, and even then only if you’re listening for it, but if you have some crazy OCD keep it in mind.Absolute must buy for someone wanting a nice field watch, especially on a budget.

This Timex is above the others. Great appearance, titanium, automatic, great water resistance, field. Totally worth it! I used the Amazon locker for delivery and it was a great experience.

My wife laughed at me when I told her I spent more than $100 on a Timex. This reveals a few things: (1) we have a healthy if not interesting sense of humor, (2) our perspective on watches is very different. I bought this on specs and a cursory read of Amazon reviews alone. Screw down crown, sapphire crystal, solid automatic movement, lightweight titanium case, shock resistance, and the nostalgia of the Timex brand? Yeah, I bought it on specs alone and it makes me smile every time I wear it.Haven't measured how accurate the movement is...and I'm not really concerned about it. Put it this way, I've never set it, wound it, worn it, looked at it throughout the day, double checked my phone, and thought something was off. Does the movement make some noises as the counterweight (I believe that's what it's called) moves around the case? Absolutely. Do I care? Absolutely not. Sorta adds a bit of character, a reason to love this watch not because of its perfections, but to acknowledge its limitations and capabilities, and to love it all the same.

The watch looks pretty good as a field watch has a nice style, but it’s very poor quality. I have watches that are less than 80 bucks that are better quality than this. Watch for the money. It is definitely not worth it and you can buy a watch four times better for the same price.

The good - Great value for an automatic, titanium case, sapphire crystal, 200m water resistant, and handsome field watch.... all for less than $300. Wow. Very light and wears easily. On balance the online reviews are pretty accurate. Pricing on this watch does vary up and down for some reason, but it does seem to be available for around $265 fairly frequently. Seems like a great value given the features and specifications. Plus it's a Timex, maybe kinda cool depending on your perspective? The bad - Quality control seems lacking, went through four to find one without visible blemishes (scratches) or flaws (pits/denting) with the titanium casework. Would rate 5 stars if not for the variable quality control. Wish it was a bit thinner overall. Self winding rotor movement is noisy, not bothersome but noticeable. The lume is OK, good on the hands, a little weak on the dial numerals and markings. It does seem to run about 15s fast each day, and power reserve is only like 42-43 hours. Plus, it's a Timex, maybe kinda lame depending on your perspective? The Miyota 8215 movement is regarded as solid, short of stellar, but does at least offer hacking. Given the balance of price and features, it seems unfair to be too critical. The ugly - Despite the high value proposition this watch represents I seriously contemplated returning it. Running 15s fast each day and the 42-43 hour power reserve limits the usefulness, especially when already wearing an Apple Watch 24/7/365. And it feels strange wearing two watches at once. I ultimately decided to keep it given the price to value balance and the fact that I don't own another fully mechanical watch. But it remains to be seen how much use I'll actually get out of it.

How much do I like this watch? I bought my first one from the official Timex site as soon as they came out as a standard issue item.Initially, this watch was a limited production offering from a collaboration between Timex and the James Brand. That production run sold out very quick and the watches started to command double the price when they showed up for sale from the people that were fast enough to get a sample. That first watch was nice but it had a few things that made it less than ideal for real watch aficionados, for example, it couldn't be hacked which made it a non-starter for tactical use. When Timex decided to make this a non-limited item, they made a change with the movement allowing the watch to be hackable, and I grabbed one up for the original price of $350. The specs alone made this price tolerable, while I could have bought 6 normal Timex watches for that amount of money. Luckily I'm not a brand snob, but it was a little hard to swallow a $350 Timex. Luckily, the performance and wearability soon had me forgetting the cost... I loved it.This price here on Amazon allowed me to correct one mistake that has bit me in the past. Many times I've had a item die and then replacement was impossible because it was out of production and the next generation was not as good. I bought this watch again, inspected it and put it away. When my first watch eventually fail, its replacement is waiting.
