I decided on the Sentry (42mm) based on the design and size. Even though I have skinnier wrists, the watch fits and looks fantastic. Even though it's only been a few weeks, I'd definitely recommend this watch. Before settling on the Gunmetal/Navy, I also tried the Black/Black, Black/White, and the Black/Brown. The Horween leather on the black/brown is very stiff, and I just couldn't get it to fit well. The look is awesome though, and the band felt much more durable than the others. If the fit was right, I would have gone with it. The black/black looked really cool, but the time was quite difficult for me to read. The navy band on the gunmetal watch is much more of a dark gray than navy, but it does have that subtle navy tone. It not as easily read as the black/brown with yellow features, but it's easier than the black/black. The Black/White features do glow in the dark, which was cool, but the overall look just wasn't what I wanted. After a few weeks, the side of the band has a few inner fabric fibers fraying off, but after a trim, I don't think it will really be an issue. I'll try to post an update. The second band loop does like to slide around a bit, and it does occasionally slide off the end of the latched band, but it hasn't been bothersome.**Update - 4 months later.Still absolutely love the watch. The date had to be updated because of February 29, but setting it is really easy and fast. Several people have given positive comments on the watch. A picture is also being attached to show the fraying. They're going to be trimmed off now, but it might be helpful to see how it's progressed over 4 months. And no water exposure, only gentle use.For setting the day/date, both have to be "changed" before they will update correctly. If the date you need is already showing, you might want to leave the crown pulled out and set it the next day. I found that if the date isn't cycled during setting, it won't update correctly. And they must be changed before noon, as the instructions say, so they update correctly at midnight.**Update - Almost 3 years later. After wearing this watch for almost 3 years, I still love it! The secondary loop for holding the band just broke, so now I'll look into another band. I wear it almost every day, but not during the night and never in water, even though it's waterproof. It still looks and functions great.

I have had three of these watches over the past year and a half. The first one was a gift that I later lost at a basketball game. Needless to say, I was really bummed! So, the second was a replacement gift the following Christmas. This one had an issue with the day/date window, so I had it returned and exchanged. Amazon made that process smooth and easy. The third one is my current watch, which I've worn daily for the past year. The stainless steel case stands up to a lot of daily dings and bumps. It's sustained a few minor scratches, but in my opinion, that's part of the watch's character. The leather strap is phenomenal. It's a beautiful piece of Horween leather which is the perfect thickness and is very high quality. I like that this strap is not imprinted to look like crocodile or something of that nature (I've noticed that's a common theme for leather watch bands), but is a simple full-grain piece of cowhide. It's also a gorgeous watch that has received quite a few compliments. The deep blue face is a captivating color. My only beef with the watch is that the second hand doesn't perfectly align with the tick marks on the watch face. It's odd because this has been the case for all three of the watches. Quality control issue?Other than that, I love this watch, and definitely plan on saving up and getting another in the future.

Seems like nice quality. Very pretty face and leather band made well.

Bought this watch for my wedding because I own 2 other sentry’s. Just such a good looking watch.

/Begin RantFirst, let me start off by saying what irritates me about most watch reviews is when people comment about how "beautiful" the watch is and blah, blah, blah. Yeah, we know it's beautiful we saw the picture online. Another thing that irritates me is when people say they bought the watch for their son, father, grandson, local hobo, or any other variety of human being. No one cares what you think they think! We need to know about what the wearer thinks, not about their reaction when they opened it as a gift. Also, please stop talking about water proof-ness. You don't buy these "fancy" styled watches to go to the beach with. Tell me about the watch itself; the quality, the feel, the time keeping abilities. Now that I got that off my chest, see below.End Rant/Let me first say, the most important thing there is to a watch. Yes, this watch keeps time. There it is, the one thing most people (who have a brain) care about when they buy a watch. I have watched this watch keep time to the second for days now. I expect it will continue to keep time as the first few days are a good indicator of whether or not it will keep time. Yes it does. The watch, does however, have a cheaply built quality feel to it. Its very light which is respectable, however, that in turn with its sharp bezel and very thin band make it feel like something you would get at Target for $30. Again, I spent $100 on this watch because Nixon watches keep time, which is important to me. Coming back to the band, while it is real leather, it's very thin and therefore creases very easily. I feel like over time the buckle will eat away at the leather causing me to have to replace the band. However, the buckle on the band is offset from the bottom of the case when it's on your wrist so the buckle itself will not get scratched when you have your wrist sitting on a table (like for someone who works at a desk). Or at least in the position I have it in. I appreciate that design about it whether purposeful or not.My only gripe with this watch is that the crown is very finicky about setting the date. The half click to pull it out to set the date sometimes does not forward the day of the week for me. I finally got it set after about 10 tries. The crown just has to be in the exact right position which I suppose is OK for me, for now.Other than that it's the perfect watch for business casual which is what I bought it for.
