Sapphire crystal - the hardest glass
Our sapphire crystal is the third hardest transparent material after moissanite and diamonds. A particularly crystal-clear, hard and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal ensures an unrestricted view of your BERING dial. All BERING watches are equipped with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
Mineral glass - the standard glass
Mineral glass is also a crystal glass, but with a structure similar to that of a rock crystal. It is a common material in the watch sector, but it is less resistant and more susceptible to scratching. BERING only uses sapphire glass in its timepieces and no mineral glass.

watch is very thin and small face so fits the smaller person perfectly.The downside is you need a microscope to read the date and day as the figures are probably 1/2mm big

Just got this but the initial impression it's ok. Comes packed in a heavy glass cup. Why is beyond me. I think half the price of the watch is in the fancy packaging. Amazon.UK has it listed as a unisex model and I admit it does look a little femmie on my hairy wrist compared to the Citizen and Casio watches I'm used to. There is no light, no radio or satellite control and no stop watch function. It claims to have titanium and sapphire crystal construction. And I admit it is very light weight. I hope the movement matches those better quality features. I will update this review in a month or so.Update: after a week watch is 2 seconds fast.Update 2: at 2 weeks, watch is 4 seconds fast.Update 3: watch is now 7 seconds fast. Don't feel that is really acceptable.Update 4: June 2: It's now been a month and a half since time sync. And watch has gained 16.5 seconds. You'll have to decide if that's acceptable to you for a $170 watch. I've kept it because I like the looks, style and the fact it has a low profile titanium case with a sapphire crystal. Ideal for work where I can easily scratch a lesser watch. I don't mind it being a little fast as I certainly rather be a little early for an appointment than late. Thus now bumping it up one star from three to four. However I still find it difficult to read the tiny print in the day and date dials. But like the basic design sufficiently to have now ordered it's brother from Amazon prime, the similarly cased $203 14440-393 solar model with the date window. Review on that one soon.

It is a very nice watch, elegant and modern. The only issue is that the numbers of the days are very small and hard to read.
