I ordered this jewelry box because my earring collection needed some organizational help. When it arrived, I could immediately see that it was very well-made and was going to be perfect.This jewelry box comes with two 24-compartment trays; each of the 48 compartments is approximately 1.5" x 1.5" and is perhaps 1" deep. The top tray easily pulls up and away from the bottom tray using two little satin-like tabs on each side. When the box lid is open, a pretty satin ribbon keeps the lid stable (so it won't fall backwards). At least one reviewer said the satin ribbon on their jewelry box was so short, the lid would not stay open; I have not had that experience.On the top tray, I neatly organized my earrings (and still had compartments to spare). On the bottom tray, I organized my rings, chains and some decorative pins. I also had half a dozen beaded necklaces that were too bulky to fit into the original compartments, so I removed several of the felt "crossbars" to make some of the compartments larger; everything fit like a charm! I stashed the crossbars inside the pocket located just below the mirror on the inside of the box lid; that way, I won't misplace them if I want to reinsert them later.I would purchase this jewelry box again in a heartbeat, though not from the original third-party Amazon Marketplace vendor (see the last paragraph of this review for the details). In fact, I just bought a second one as a gift for someone else (from a different vendor) and I hope she enjoys hers as much as I am enjoying mine.Now, for a little bit of bad news...When I first ordered this box, it was from a third-party Amazon Marketplace company called "Stacks and Stacks". On their website, Amazon stated that this product would take two extra days of processing and I was OK with that. Since I am an Amazon Prime customer, I always get my shipments in two days anyway. So when I add my two Prime days to the two extra processing days in the ad, I expected the package to be at my front door in four days, maybe five days tops. When 10 days had gone by and no package had arrived, I called Amazon's customer service and they said they had no verification from Stacks and Stacks that my order had even been shipped. Therefore, I asked Amazon to cancel the order. They forwarded my cancellation request directly to Stacks and Stacks. Only then did I receive an email from Stacks and Stacks saying that my order could not be canceled because it had already been shipped. Huh? The package then "miraculously" showed up at my home two days later, bringing the total shipping time to 13 days. This is ridiculous and completely unsatisfactory. I will never, repeat never, order anything from Stacks and Stacks again. Buyer beware!

I have been looking for a jewelry box for just earrings for a couple of years, and could not really find anything I liked. When I found this at amazon, I thought it was a good size, and would help me organize my earrings so that they would finally be in one place, instead of in many different jewelry bags and boxes. The inexpensive price and the fact that it said faux leather made me think that it might look a bit tacky, but that it still would be a good organizer for me, so I decided to take a chance on it. It just arrived and I couldn't wait to see what it looked like. It is perfect - exactly what I was looking for, in terms of a great way to organize my earrings so that I can find them easily, but also a beautiful jewelry box that is a really nice quality. It does not look tacky at all! It is beautiful, and made very nicely. I could not have found a better product or a better size! Besides the 48 sections for earrings, the inside of the lid has a lovely mirror and shirred pocket for other types of jewelry. The catch is pretty, and the box actually looks like real leather! I would highly recommend this, and will probably buy one for someone else eventually as a special gift. I love it!!!

Very pretty box. Feels high quality and looks like real leather. No strong smells that accompany some faux leather products. Only issue is that the holders inside have nothing in them. They are just individual empty small squares. This doesn't leave a way to attractively display or store jewelry where one can see what is in each individual slot, nor keep it from getting banged around should the box be used for travel. I am remedying this by adding pelican case replacement foam. 4 of the pelican custom pull-out foam rectangles (kept together - all 4 forming 1 piece) fit the width perfectly and cutting that piece in half allows me to fill 2 squares. I had enough foam from 1 replacement custom piece to fill the entire top shelf and half of the bottom. This allows me to mount the earrings on the foam as well as attractively put 3 piece jewelry sets on one piece, keeping them secure in their squares and allowing me to see what I am looking for right away. The only thing I'd change with this box is the maker providing optional "holders" inside the squares for rings, earrings, necklaces, etc so that I didn't have to purchase materials and take the time to make it myself. I realize not everyone may want their jewelry to look like it is in presentation format and for those, best of luck figuring out which is what.

I've never been satisfied with the jewelry boxes offered at Target or another retailer. This jewelry box is well-designed with plenty of space for small and large earrings. It's beautiful and high quality. I'd had mine for two years and it's held up well. My mom has the same jewelry box and also loves it.If you don't have much jewelry, you could use this box for everything as I do. I place one necklace in an earring compartment. Even my finer chains haven't become knotted in this way.

I purchased this jewelry box as a Christmas present, and am VERY happy with it!! It arrived very well packed -- jewelry box was in a cloth bag, in a nice pink product box, that was placed in a cardboard box, and THAT box was inside the shipping box with good protection air cushions. The pink box and bag in which it was packed made it a nice presentation as a gift.The exterior is a lovely, soft, padded leatherette (faux leather, whatever you wish to call it) which will be easy to clean (there is a grey cat in the house, so black surfaces need to be cleaned often ;)). The snap is firm, but not difficult to unsnap/snap. The inside dividers are removable, so that custom-sized spaces can be created for larger pieces, such as bracelets, necklaces, etc. The little ribbon lifters work well for removing the top portion, and accessing the bottom.I love this box so much that I want one!!! Recommended :)
