- Hand Made Steel Torques. Torque (troq or torc), from Latin torques - to twist, is a common name for all rigid metal neck rings, that our ancestors had been wearing since the Bronze Age. Torcs were popular with the Romans and it is considered a typical Celtic artifact. It was a symbol of both religious and secular power, worship, and protection, as torcs were worn by gods and goddesses, heroes, warriors, and aristocracy; it represented a high social status and importance

Love the look of this, but wow is it a pain (literally) to get on and off. It's definitely solid iron, so has zero flex to it. You have to kind of wedge it onto your neck. Might actually go easier putting it on/off in the shower with soap. Will have to try that next.
