These are pretty and a tiny bit bigger than a quarter if I had to guess. I forgot I ordered them so when I opened the box, the design caught me off guard. They look really good on the ear though, especially if you enjoy hoops more than anything. I believe this is the smallest hoop earring that should be worn, so I'm happy with the size, but that's just a personal opinion. The clip on the back comes with a plastic backer, but I don't use those. Just be careful, its one of those backs that you think you've close it but the hole is beside the pin, rather than the pin being in the hole. Obviously its an easy and quick fix each time, but I always have this problem with this particular type of backing. I also have a slightly thicker ear lobe, but these don't seem to squish or cause pain or discomfort on the ear and are light.
