I give these kids nowadays a hard time about their way of talking with their OMG, BRB, TTYL, HB, TYT, etc...So here we go, now I got a decoder ring to pick on the kids with so I can understand them better.I am happy with the feel of it with the comfy band. It doesn't spin very well even after playing with it for a good while but that's ok. I do like that the numbers are not in order and they are random.

Nicer than expected. Comfort fit.True to size.It had a minor scrubbing so we blew it out with an air compressor and wd40.Spins nicely now.

Not very useful when the numbers and letters don't line up! You would think for $11 they could at least get that part right. NOPE. Totally useless. I'll be returning it this week.

Many years ago I was in the Army Signal Corps, dealing with top-secret information. In talking with my old friends, we sometimes joke about Captain Midnight secret decoder rings. As a lark, I searched on-line to find one and found this modern-day decoder ring as a worthwhile and good-looking substitute. The supplier quoted 2-3 month delivery, but I decided to go ahead anyway. With great pleasure, I received my ring today, 2.5 weeks after I ordered. It works as advertised*, although, with a one-for-one constant letter to number association (no numbers or characters can be "encrypted"), I imagine the code can be relatively easily broken by anyone who has a knack for such things.* Clarification note: As a few of the other reviewers have also discovered, the silver and gold rings have a problem with misalignment of the numbers and letters for about a third of the alphabet (maybe 9 letters). This unfortunate manufacturing problem can be solved one way by writing + or - after the number, meaning look left or right for the appropriate letter. The black ring doesn't seem to have this problem, but, although metal, it has the look more of shiny plastic than metal. For ring sizing, I would also say that, instead of visiting a jewelry store (now closed due to the Coronavirus shutdown), I purchased one of Amazon's ring sizer tools to find out my ring size:https://amazon.com/gp/product/B07KNHVVXJ/ I'm glad I did, printing off and using a ring-sizing sheet from my computer would have led to an error. Now all I need to do, besides bragging that I have a secret decoder ring, is to either write down and share the code or get my friends to buy rings as well! Maybe it will give us an advantage in winning? Speaking of that, check out this nifty book: Strategy Pure and Simple: Essential Moves for Winning in Competition and Cooperation
