Silver is smooth and mirror-finished. Very good finish quality.The part going in your piercing has a smooth end that's easy to insert and almost impossible to damage the interior of the piercing with. Once in place you simply press the sides together and the smaller part clicks into the larger part; effectively holding it in place. Separating it again for removal is not too difficult but is hard enough not to happen accidentally.I like that there's no threading to worry about keeping clean (internal or external) - just smooth shiny metal.All in all quite a fan of the looks of this.

I've had a navel piercing for years and have always struggled to find something comfortable for everyday wear, but this little oval ring is perfect. The way that it is curved makes it very comfortable and it doesn't catch on any of my shirts or pants. For changing out the jewelry, the hinge opens pretty wide, which makes it easy to slide into the piercing site. It even came with a cleaning cloth! I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to nickel, and this jewelry has not caused any irritation, so it is definitely hypoallergenic as promised. Even though my piercing is a bit shorter/smaller than normal, the clasp ring fits comfortably and is totally smooth, but this jewelry could definitely fit a large piercing just as well.

Measure piercing LENGTH before purchasing - I’ve never had to measure the length of my naval piercing before purchasing but for this item it is a must since they sell different lengths instead of gauges.
