This is a lovely teardrop filigree design pendant with a good-quality chain. I have other similar items from over the years, and I am 69 years old. Those others are beautiful but will get tangled, so I usually need more motivation to wear them. With a dress, blouse, and tunic, long chains look fabulous over many years as classics—no need to purchase more. The 925 Sterling Silver is what you'd expect, and any other material beyond this might be either a cheap metal or some white gold. This is a graceful size that graces curves. I wear this comfortably and love that I do not need to clasp this necklace. The chain fits over my head, and my long hair doesn't work against me.I would gift this item. It is in a lovely gift package, and you can polish it with a chamois. However, I would still avoid dulling corrosives, tarnishing substances, and oily ones that attract dirt/debris. I would brush gently, and if you see a problem, you can take care of it. This is standard for most jewelry.This is of good value for a long-lasting finish and sturdy but durable chain.Enjoy!

I love this necklace. The chain is super ongoing, and for me, hits right where my bra connector hits. I wore this several days in the shower and all day. I had no adverse reaction or issues with discoloration.My only complaint, is that the pendant is slightly front heavy. All the metal and gems are on the front, and the back is offset a bit but it's hollow. So the pendant spends a good deal of time flipped over, with the back showing out. For me, the chain is long and I'm always moving, so it gets moved around a lot and isn't a big deal. However, it is noticeable that it spends more time back out than front out.
