Inspired by ancient Mesopotamian jewelry.

lapis sumerian necklace with gold spacer beads from the tomb of Ur

Our team created this necklace similar to one found at the royal cemetery in the town of Ur.

The striking combination of bright, blue lapis lazuli and polished gold was as favored by the ancient Sumerians as well as by the Egyptians. The Sumerians inhabited lower Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers from the middle of the 4th millennium B.C. until about 1792 B.C. They learned early on how to shape gold, silver, copper, and bronze into useful objects. Necklaces, other jewelry, boxes, and statues richly embellished with gold and lapis were found among the many treasures excavated at the royal cemetery in the town of Ur.

I think you should also consider having the necklace both with the stones polished and non polished to give consumers an option.

I was inspired to purchase this necklace after rewatching the movie "Dances With Wolves" and noting one that looked incredibly similar which Kevin Costner donned throughout the film. I scoured the internet in as many directions as a Wonkavator goes and this piece was the cIosest thing I could find to the one in the film. I'm a cisgender man with an average-sized neck, but I still needed a four-inch extender to make it fit without choking me. Unlike other reviewers, I'm not too concerned with the fact that the lapis lazuli beads aren't polished, but it might have offered a bit more gloss to the piece. That said, I was a bit disappointed with the fact that the beads are not nearly as vibrant a blue as in the Amazon pics, but that's a common theme with the site's promotional images. I haven't worn this yet, so I can't speak to how well the gold-plated sections will hold up, but overall I'm pleased with the necklace for the price.

The color is gorgeous and I love that the stones are unpolished.

I have been looking for an affordable but unusual lapis lazuli necklace for a long time. This one is the prize winner! I wear a lot of navy blue clothing and this necklace dresses any outfit up or down. I am thrilled I grabbed it when I did. Take a look!

This necklace looks and feels like a proper good quality replica from the time period, real stones and unpolished (as it would of been). I did however just order some extensions parts to go with this necklace as the necklace was a literal choker. (I'm a male) another inch or two and I will be wearing this daily. Super cool necklace, super cool history made in the USA 🇺🇸. I like it.
