I've had the 1mm chain for over a year now with a small, light pendant on it. I never take it off, and it's held up very well. It could stand a cleaning, but with a lot of silver you don't always notice it until you hold it up against something that's new. I really like it and if they had a thicker one I'd order another one for a larger pendant I have.
