I had my cartilage pierced on a whim at a mall with a piercing gun, and when my ears finally healed, I was disappointed to find out I could only wear 20 gauge earrings in my new piercing (another reason why you shouldn't get them done at a mall). But after searching and searching, I found these horseshoe earrings and they're an absolutely perfect fit. They're so comfortable! I sleep in them with no problems. They slip in easily, and with some practice (pulling the open end of the earring to the front, so that the side with the ball lays against your cartilage area), it's easy to screw the little balls on. If you're having trouble unscrewing them, I find that using a rubber jar opener works wonders. I love these earrings and the variety of colors/metals so much! Thanks!

This review is for the 20 gauge set of 6 pairs (12pcs).--Overview:I waited a while to review these to see if I had the problems others did, with being unable to unscrew the balls or having them come off and get lost, as well as to see if they irritated my ears. I'm pleased to report that of the three pairs I've worn so far (the rainbow, rose gold, and black) I've had no problems at all. The first pair I used jewelry pliers to unscrew the ball but I'm not sure I needed to -- I've had no trouble with the rest. The only thing I wish is that the rose gold were rosier -- it's hard to tell they're rose unless you're compare them with a careful eye next to the yellow gold -- there isn't much difference. But that's nothing at all compared to the value for price. I haven't tested the silver, yellow gold, or blue, but wanted to go ahead and leave a review because I love these so much and fully expect to love the other three pairs just as much.--Super comfortable! My ears get easily irritated by anything that's heavy at all or is a thicker gauge, and I don't think much about earrings so I tend to go without for too long and then the holes start to close and it's hard to get anything in, which just irritates them more. I wanted earrings I could just leave in 24/7, and I thought this style would work because of the round balls on each end -- no pointy bits to bother me while I sleep. Got these and am so glad. I've had a pair on since I received them and hardly notice them except that I like to mess with them and turn them around and whatnot.--Mix and match! Hoops or studs! The picture is of the black hoops with their balls swapped out for the rose gold ones. Mix and match yay! I've worn the rainbow and rose gold as well, and it's super easy to spin them around to either have one ball flush against the front of the lobe and the other cupping the bottom, or with one flush against the back so they look like normal hoops (at least from the front and mostly from the side).--A little hard at first...A few things to note: I started with the rainbow pair and they were hard to get in at first. The gauge is fine, the same as most of my earrings, and I had put in a pair of stud earrings first to be sure the holes were open, but it was still a challenge. I think maybe it's because of the threading, but in any case after quite a bit of patience and struggle I did get the first pair on. I used an antibiotic ointment to help smooth the way and minimize irritation. I've had no trouble getting them on since then. The tiny balls are hard to keep a grip on and get screwed onto the threads, and I have pretty small fingers -- someone with larger fingers might have more trouble. The first time was by far the hardest, but a pair of those thin, stretchy, powder-free medical/baby care gloves helped a lot. Also, do put a towel in the sink or under wherever you're putting them in! I almost lost one because I thought I had closed the stopper but there was a little gap. I rescued it though and all was well. With a little practice it's a lot easier.--Be sure they're threaded all the way on!As far as losing the balls, I'll just say that when I put in the ones I have on today, I thought I had threaded the ball on successfully but then noticed that I could see the silver threading on the black hoop. The ball wasn't screwed on, it was stuck there on the end -- I'd misaligned it like I always do the peanut butter jar. A few more tries and I got it screwed on right, so CHECK to be sure you can't see the threading! The balls fit all the way on, so if you can see any threading you've probably misaligned the ball and then it WILL fall off.I like these so much I may go and get my second holes re-done.

I have been looking for some good surgical steel earrings so when I saw these I had to get them. There were 6 pairs in all which included black, a brass color, gold, silver, a multicolored one and a blue pair. All of them are well made and go in nicely. I did have one that the balls would not unscrew from so thats the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I couldnt even get the ball off with plyers so I will just use the other matching one for my single piercing. I also like that I can use them in my ears, nose, etc. They are in a shape that can be used in multiple areas of the body. Well made and great price

Bought these pair of earrings after MUCH contemplation. I have very sensitive ears. I cannot not wear anything fake and not even earrings that say sensitive solution. After a few minutes my ears get uncomfortable. These claim to be surgical steel and as far as I can tell, that is accurate. My ears have not reacted to them at all. I bought the 3/8 for my first whole. I have fat earlobes and they fit perfectly. I've had to repierce my second hole 3 times because of them. The post were never long enough. I now wear just hourseshoe earrings so I don't have to take them out. These were hard to put in because the balls are very small but I eventually made it work. They are secure and have had no problem with them being stripped like other reviews have stated. I definitely recommend them.

I was looking to replace my last horseshoe jewelry and this found me. Fits perfect and looks great. Love it.

I give it one star because I love the look! However the balls are sooo bad! I didn't read all reviews before buying it. The first second I opened one of the earring the ball fell out of my hand because it is sooo tiny. But hey that was my fault! I was very upset because I couldn't find it but again it was my fault so I sucked it in. Then I put my other earring in and screwed the ball on so tight and it looked absolutely gorgeous and I thought I was good to go. I was actually thinking about buying another pair just because I loved it so much. Until I went out and came back home to look in the mirror and found that the earring had no ball on it!! The ball fell out and I didn't even feel it! And that's what most reviewers wrote as well :/ so now both of my earrings are useless! I advise the seller to maybe put more balls in with the earrings in case we lose any there are replacements because obviously this is a common issue and no one will want to purchase earrings that will fall out within a few hours!

I ordered them because my partner had them and I really liked them. When they arrived I pulled one out and it was tiny- definitely not the size I ordered. I put them in with the rest of my earrings disappointed and forgot about them. Fast forward a few months and I dump out my earrings to find the other one is larger and fits me. It's comfortable and looks good; I haven't had any durability issues.
