Product Description

Successor model of the KronSegler series NEPTUN from 2004.

In 2022, the NEPTUN series celebrates a comeback in a new, flatter design and exclusive equipment with Swiss Superluminova BGW9 Grade A luminous indexing.

The maritime design of the dial with nautical flag indexes remained almost unchanged. The colors white, blue and the pacific green typical for KronSegler were also retained.

The NEPTUN II is now powered by the modern and even more precise automatic movement K029.024 (CITIZEN base), which is a fast beat movement with 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), beared on 24 rubies. The extremely flat movement is equipped with a modified date display at 3 o'clock. Thanks to this movement, the watch has a thickness of only 10.6 mm at 41.5 mm case diameter. The case, softly rounded on the sides, looks very slim, despite a curved glass. The watch glass is a K1 glass with special scratch resistance and a hardness of 8.5 MOHS.

The valuable watches with steel or two-layer gold-plated cases have domed dials with radiating guilloches. An outer scale ring indicates the times of the second half of the day from 1 pm to midnight. Next to the flag indexes are luminous units made of 30-layer Swiss Superluminova BGW9 Grade A, currently the best luminous material for watches*.

The leather straps are black or dark blue, padded, alligator-embossed and equipped with a KRONSEGLER emblem button and a folding clasp with safety double pusher.

The NEPTUN II is delivered in an exclusive box incl. certificate of authenticity, booklet with instruction manual and polishing cloth.

Superluminova BGW9 Grade A

Superluminova BGW9 Grade A

In the course of the development of watches, the need arose more and more that the time should also be readable in the dark. Unlike earlier manufacturing processes, today's luminous compounds no longer contain radioactive substances. The basic principle is that phosphorescent crystals are inserted into a carrier layer containing molecules that are excited when exposed to UV light. After the light source is removed, these molecules emit electrons, causing the phosphorescent crystals to afterglow.

The further development of previous luminous materials is called Superluminova and has a significantly higher luminosity. There are different Superluminova grades. Superluminova BGW9 has a white hue in daylight. In darkness, it turns to a light blue hue. The luminosity is about 95 percent in direct comparison with C3, which is currently the brightest luminous material known. The luminous period of BGW9, however, is higher than that of C3, which makes BGW9 the best equipment for watches.

The focus of the Kronsegler brand is on innovative, affordable watches in the range of USD 200 to 700, in the top segment of mechanical watches up to just under USD 1300. The company only uses Japanese or Swiss base movements. The development of a proprietary module caliber based on Swiss components was completed in 2009. The fundamental renunciation of Chinese movements and finished watches ensures a clear differentiation from cheap and low-budget productions.
