Sterling silver is created when combining pure silver with copper at a ratio of 92.5 percent silver to 7.5 percent copper to maintain its durability without harming its sparkle.

Silver should not come into contact with harsh household chemicals. To avoid scratches, store in a lined jewelry box or pouch, as it is prone to tarnish. Upon noticing any discoloration, use a gentle polishing cloth.

From Factory Direct To You

Through the years our company has been able to witness firsthand the production process of fine gold and sterling silver jewelry since we have manufacturers who create sterling silver chain from smelting to final polishing and packaging. We also have ones who start from mixing alloys.

We watched as the sterling silver gets poured into a casting machine, solidified, then formed into a rod. We observed as the sterling silver rod is turned into a coil then into a wire, which is then distributed to different types of machines that will create the silver chain we need. We were also given the opportunity to have a hands-on experience of soldering the clasps on the silver chain.

Smelting is a procedure wherein a metal is extracted from its ore by heating beyond melting point, usually with the presence of oxidizing agents. Through smelting, pure metals such as silver ingots and gold ingots are produced.

I ordered a necklace style medical alert ID as my bracelet one kept snagging stuff and was hard to keep clean. It came on this UGLY chain tho and I just had to replace it. I love this necklace because it is very dainty and feminine. It is longer so I can have my necklace on with my (rather large) dog-tag style medical alert but it isn't visible (tucked into my bra or between 'the girls.') Not everyone needs to know I have it on and I am less self-conscious about wearing it.The necklace stays shiny. The links are even more beautiful than in the photo. The length is long enough that I don't have to mess with the clasp when I shower, I just pull it over my head easily. My hair hasn't gotten caught in the clasp at all. Delicate looking but very strong. My 8-mo old grand-girl has given it quite a few strong tugs without it breaking!

I bought this chain to wear with a fairly large crystal pendant, but it's more delicate than I expected. My own fault, I'm sure, since I'm no good at visualizing measurements given in millimeters. I'll try to find something more suitable to slide onto this chain. It's definitely pretty, just not suitable for the pendant.

This is a cute chain but thin. I should have looked at some of the millimeters in the stores so I could get a better grasp, it's not the seller's fault I'm not up on that. I like the design but am not TOTALLY in love with it like I have been with some of my other chains. I like to wear my chains solitaire, this seems to be a good chain for a locket or other type of bauble. Good chain but not really my cup of tea.

This chain gave me a rash simple as that and I had to take it off. Perhaps it contains nickle or rhodium or minerals unknown to mankind I dont know : ) but I have never in my life had any problem wearing silver stamped 925. I returned this and Amazon were more than gracious to refund my money. Again maybe I'm allergic all of a sudden? or maybe this chain is not what it is said to be. Btw before I returned it it was already tarnishing on my neck after just a few days of wear. Hope this helps.

This is a beautiful, sturdy chain. I bought this for a friend and she wears it every day. She loves the way it fits, and how shiny it is! 16 inches is more a choker length. But the cut of the metal is gorgeous! It is definitely worth every penny and then some!
