Ok so I did not read the description thoroughly & did not realize that these were plastic nut beads. I wanted natural but this mistake was fully my fault. That being said the quality of the plastic nut lei is pretty good. My only complaint is that the identically uniform nature of the plastic nuts makes this lei look like a reproduction & not natural. If you are ok with that then you will be very happy with the purchase of this economically priced product. If you want something that looks real/authentic, spend a lil more $ & get yourself a natural nut lei.

The Lei looks nice, just simple polished black on black ribbon. About the right length. I am not entirely sure these are real Kukui nuts, as they are smaller and flatter than the ones on other Kukui nuts leis I have gotten, and the shape seems almost too even. (I live in Hawaii, so I have many sitting around to compare it to.) But it looks really nice, and I don't know why someone would do a forensic examination. Definitely will work well if you are looking for a basic kukui nut lei.

Nicely made Kukui nut necklace. All the pieces were highly polished and without defect. We used the necklace as the base for adding on the dollar medallions and coordinating color ribbon bows as shown in the pictures. The final product was really great and a wonderful addition to the stack of commemorative lei's we showered my grand-daughter with for graduation. This necklace has the added benefit that it is long lasting as a memento and I am so pleased with it's value.
