Nice well-made necklace extender that's actually 14k! When I first received it, it appears to look dainty, but I have accidentally wore my necklace to bet twice and the extender didn't twist or loose it's shape at all. An extra benefit, the extender allows you to clip your necklace at various lengths with it numerous openings.

I haven't had a chance to get the metal tested for gold content yet, but the lobster claw clasp is marked '585' for 14K gold (see my photos). I don't know if the chain itself is also 14K.This is a thin and delicate extender that I might not use on a heavy necklace just because I don't know how sturdy it would be. The extender weighs less than 1 gram and the chain looks and feels delicate. It's great for my lightweight, thin necklaces though. The extender came in a gift box with a small polishing cloth. Overall, I like it. I just wish it wasn't so delicate. It makes me nervous to use on any weighty necklaces.

I got this for a few gold necklaces I have that are just too short for my taste and comfort. It is solid gold with a tiny marking to indicate this on the clasp. The clasp works well and I am not worried about it becoming loose when wearing it with my necklaces. I would not wear this with any heavy necklaces though as this does appear somewhat delicate. This is not a problem for me, as my chains are on the thinner side and not heavy, but this may not work if you have heavier necklaces with heavier pendants. Very pleased with this extender.

My wife is now able to add an extra few inches to her favorite gold chain for when she's wearing it without a pendant (plain), or take the extender off to shorten it back to the original length for when she's wearing a pendant. This simple addition gives a great dual-use to her nearly everyday wear.Hallmark is located on the closure of the clasp (small, but super-zoomed-in you can see it in my picture): 585, indicating 14K gold.I have to echo the part of Stephanie M's review, I too wish the connector loop was a tad larger, but despite a little extra effort, it really makes her chain much more versatile, and it looks great.I have no issue giving this gold chain extender 5 stars!

I ordered the rose gold 3” extender. Shipping was quick and the chain came in a ziplock within a small jewelry box.The chain is as described, 3 inches long and the clasp is STURDY. The chain is quite wide and us actually bigger in width than the necklace I was using this extender for! That means that this can support thicker Cuban or Byzantine chains if needed. The extender withstands constant wear and does not tarnish nor will it cause your skin to stain. Clearly stamped with the EU trademark for gold. The price at the time of this listing is 70 USD which is great for the quality.
