I own a wheat chain by another brand in 10K yellow gold that I really like — and paid less for — but they didn't have a 24" available, so I bought this instead hoping to get the same quality.This necklace arrived with a BLANK tag, a 10K stamp near the clasp (nearly impossible to read under the tag even with a jeweler's loupe) and no country of origin or information.I knew when I ordered this that the description omitted the mm size of the chain, which is pretty standard disclosure but I missed the fact that the description also doesn't say where the product was made (a legal requirement!).To my eye, the 10K white gold looks exactly like sterling silver because in looking at the chain there are portions that are shinier than others as if to indicate that the piece has tarnished slightly. The necklace is non-magnetic but beyond that, I have my doubts as to whether it's sterling silver or solid white gold.This chain was priced right compared to the same length and gold type in competing chains, but now I am not confident in what I bought. Still, I am tempted to give the seller the benefit of the doubt because I'm lazy and don't want to bring it to another jeweler, who didn't get my business on this item because I bought it on Amazon, for acid testing. Consequently, I'm on the fence about just trusting that it is constructed well enough to secure my diamond pendant or whether I should return it and get something a bit heavier or at least identified (i.e. made in Italy). On the plus side, the mechanism for the chain is good as others have noted. It doesn't seem like it will "lose" its length unlike some adjustable chains that slip. In short, I am on the fence on whether to keep or return. If anyone else should buy this and get it tested please consider reviewing the necklace and letting other would-be buyers know for peace of mind.
