Chakras
One of our favourite explanations for having 108 beads on a mala is related to the chakras (the seven energy points in our body).
It has been said there there are 108 energy lines connecting to the heart, with one of them believed to be the path to self realization.
Mantras
When using your mala beads in meditation and chanting your mantra, some have said you are complete once you have done it 100 times. The 8 extra beads are to account for errors. Or even more beautiful, are meant to be an offering to your guru.
Letters
Many choose to recite their mantra in sanskrit, the ancient script of India. Within the Saksrit alphabet there are 54 letters. Each letter has a feminine and masculine version — totalling 108.

I bought as a gift for my daughter. I personally have always like the tiger eye stone. I bought to use as a necklace. I thought it was actually of good quality. I will update with any issues. I maybe found one stone with a slight imperfection. But that’s fine as it was a minor indentation and keep in mind it is natural stone. I really enjoyed it hope she does too. I thought stones looked awesome. Clasp would have been better but oh well.

I just wanted something cheap and effective and this exceeded my expectations. I was worried about the bead amount being accurate-it is! It ha also 6 additional decorative beads which make it aesthetically pleasing. I was also worried about the size because I wanted to wrap it around my wrist day-to-day but my wrist measures 6.5 and my hands are quite large which leaves me fews options in terms of wrist accessories but the elastic cord was adjustable and I managed to wrap it 5 times around comfortably. I was also worried about the elastic cord but it looks really sturdy..I can't say anything yet though because I have a way with breaking even the most sturdiest of things. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase!

Excellent beads strung on thin *elastic* not a durable cord. Guaranteed the cord breaks within a month, be prepared to re-string them yourself.

I think I've owned these for about a year now. I'm allergic to most metals. They're very pretty. I got the smaller bead ones. There are small indentations which I think is to be expected from stones. I've not tried stretching them, although they do fine to fit tightly over my wrist. It came with a pouch I didn't expect and never used.
