This opal starfish pendant is just beautiful! The opal has clarity and depth of color. It is very well-made with the opal firmly set into the piece. It doesn't come with a chain, so you'll have to buy one separately. The starfish displays particularly well on the 18 inch smooth round "snake chain" I bought to wear with it.This piece has special symbolic significance for me. Those who have read the essay The Star Thrower by Loren Eisley, or have heard tan inspirational talk based upon Eisley's essay, often called The Starfish Story, will understand when I say I bought it as a reminder that each of us can make a difference. The Story: An old cynical writer walking along a beach at dawn comes upon a young man throwing starfish into the sea. When he asks why, the young man says, "The sun is coming up and if they are on the beach when the sun is up they will die." The cynic says, "There are miles of beaches. You can't possibly make a difference." The young man looks at the cynic, bends down, picks up a starfish and gently tosses it out past the breaking waves. "It made a difference for that one." So get your own starfish to serve as a reminder that we all have the power to bring about change!

The Blue and Silver conmbination is perfect. My wife really liked it..What's with the absence of a chain? I had to go out and buy a couple of chains in a size that doesn't require a person with tiny hands to operate. I usually enjoy the items I get through Amazon. I noticed that a lot of the Necklaces come with no chain. These are coming from all over the country from different businesses. Also they all arrive at different times in a varitey of packaging. Some of the items came in a small plastic bag. The ones that have a small chain attached are usually twisted in a tangled knot! It takes a lot of time and some dental picks to untangle them.I feel that some serious Quality Control is needed for these small jewelry items. I have spent a lot of money over the years on jewelry. I would have preferred that the AD had stated up front that no chain was included. Otherwise my "Purchasing Experience" was fine. Also I would like the picture of the items to be of actual size. I see a lovely picture in the ad...Only to find it to be a lot smaller when it arrives.

These earrings are really adorable and looks very sturdy. I'm gifting this to a teen and wanted to make sure it wasn't flimsy. However, I wasn't very happy with the packaging, it has a huge sticker on the small plastic zip lock kinda bag it came in and not very good to gift it in. I'm going to have to find another little box to put it in, for that reason it's a 4...but the earrings are cute

Their Mom (of twins) knows their personalities and I gave her the pleasure of deciding which twin would get which gift. She immediately knew and knew each would love it on Saturday at their party. They are 11 years old and really into bling. For me it was to remind them that Grandpa and Grandma miss them at the beach.
