Did a lot of reviews watching on youtube and reading blogs on automatic watch movements and which one is crap, which one is great etc etc..Came to learn a lot from all the reading. Was looking for an sporty automatic watch with luminescence that did not look like a ripoff of a Rolex, Tag or Omega. Anything up to 400-500$. Having reviewed a crap load of watches, It all boiled down to this one. I didnt care much about price as long as it was below $400...This watch is a 7 stars out of 5. The movement is so awesome even compared to my $250 Fossil withAutomatic movement that sounds like a tank and could wake you up. Luminescence is fantastic after direct exposure to sunlight and poor after normal exposure to ambient light in an apartment. Glass is sapphire. Watch is heavy and sturdy and looks high quality with a very well finish. Seriously it looks like easily a $1000 + watch. I dont know how Invicta can produce such a beauty for that price. I wouldn't exchange this watch for a $ 1,000 Oris automatic watch with similar specs and that does the exact same things and does not even look as high quality as this Invicta. Yes I know Invicta gets a lot of flak for making thousands of gross big vulgar watches but this one is definitely the one hidden gem...I kind of didnt even want to write this review as I wanted to keep this secret for myself...This is NOT a dress watch. It is high and on the bulkier side. It is definitely more like a diving military tactical watch. Not something you would wear with a Tux..If you want a great quality watch with the specs I mentioned above then go with this watch. If you want a famous flashy brand name then go buy vintage Rolex or Omega watches on ebay or go all the way and fork $10,000 and above (makes no sense to me to buy the cheaper Rolex or Omega for $4000 brand new...You might as well go all the way)Update 08/22/17: So the watch is still gorgeous lol as well as its movement. It runs about 6 seconds late per day which is not bad at all for the price I paid. Great diver. As I said above it is heavy. It wont feel cheap. I wish it was a bit shorter in height. It sits at 15 mm in height above your wrist so if you are the tinier type with tiny wrists it look a bit weird on you. My wrist is 7 in around and it is borderline

The watch is high quality. It keeps the best time of any watch I have ever owned. It should be selling for $300 or more. I love mine.

As many of the other reviewers have said in their reviews, this is a beautiful timepiece. I have a fairly large collection of watches including a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera and several automatic and quartz watches costing several hundred dollars. This watch is one of the least expensive watches I own, yet it seems to have more in common with my mid-price ($300-$500) pieces. It is a large, fairly heavy watch and it stands out nicely with the combination black and red colors. The quality is evident in all the details from the nice band to the rotating bezel and visible movement case back. I've had it a few days now and it is keeping absolutely perfect time. My only complaint is that the luminous markings are fairly weak, but I am comparing this to watches with tritium dials, so it's really not a fair criticism. I don't know how Invicta manages to create such a nice product at this price point, but if you are a collector of automatic watches, this one is really worth your consideration. I could not be happier with my purchase!

Despite Invicta's sketchy reputation on style, I am a fan of the Grand Diver automatic series of watches. I consider these an automatic alternative to cheaply made quartz Fashion Watches. When you need a break from your Omega, Breitling, Oris, or other Swiss watches, this series fits the bill as they are inexpensive (less than those cheap quartz watches), take a beating without complaints, and most of all, they're fun! This 47mm Grand Diver (GD) is different from others in that series in a few notable ways. First, this watch is as thick as other GD's, but unlike the "normal" ones where the case back extends about 4mm from the bottom of the case, this one lays almost flat on your wrist and has all of the thickness in the bezel. The 120-click unidirectional bezel has little play and a satisfying feel and sound. It's unique with a 5mm red shoulder with white minute timer markings etched into it.The strap is very comfortable two-tone black/red silicone and long enough for large wrists, which is a good thing as this watch fits those with large wrists very well, far better than the smaller, 40mm Pro Divers. But that's just my opinion. The 26mm Silicone Strap is very comfortable, which is a good thing as finding a replacement is difficult. The lug width is indeed 26mm, which I thought was a typo as why would Invicta make a one-off case that didn't have the other Grand Diver's common 22mm lug width? But they did. I have yet to find a 26mm black metal bracelet that would work on this watch, so it's a good thing I like the silicone one.The cons of this watch are that it is large and sits high on your wrist, so it's may not fit under your shirt cuffs. The bezel insert is aluminum, not ceramic, and the crystal is mineral with "flame fusion" hardening on it, not sapphire. But at this price point that would be asking a lot.All in all, for the price it's a good watch for those with larger wrists, unique, comfortable, and sturdy.
