This is really a pretty little dish to have on your dresser top to put small jewelry items on. The gold painting on is is a gorgeous soft gold, not too flashy. However, it is unglazed and porous, therefore makes it harder to clean when dusty. I do also wish the the leaf pattern was painted on. Instead it's more like a picture stamped on. For those 2 things I deducted one star, but I still think this is beautiful. And for $12.99 at the time I'm writing this review, I think it's well worth it and I'd absolutely order it again.

While this wasn't intended to be used as a small watercolor mixing palette, similar dishes have served nicely in that regard, so I gave this one a shot as well.The gold is a thin layer of paint with little luster.The dish itself is thick and has bits of clay crumbs fired permanently on the surface of the hardened ceramic.The leaves are clearly printed on something else then sublimated onto the dish, not painted - you can see the pixels in the design.The white part is kind of a dirty off-white color, and not a non-porous glaze - when I use it with watercolor, it absorbs the water quickly, leaving the pigment behind to stain the dish.Again, this was not made for use with watercolors, but the porous glazing also means it will stain easily with soap, oil, or other residue if used on the bathroom or kitchen counter for your rings, for instance.This dish looks nice enough from a distance, but upon closer examination it really isn't great in any regard. Cannot recommend.

This little dish is the perfect size to hold my jewelry at the end of the day. It will hold about 2 days' worth, and then I'm forced to put it away properly. And that's my goal, to keep my jewelry neat. Thr design is nice, too,with my initial in the center. Just what I needed!
