I like a sturdy septum but this one was so hard to open, I damaged the ring trying and it still wouldn't budge. Not only would I not trust this to come back out if I could get it in, I don't think it's as safe now with the scrapes to the coating (but that parts on me)I think the reviews would be a lot better if it just came opened or came with a tool to open it.

Great piece of jewelry. It is a good size for a septum. It’s not too big. It is a little bit difficult to get in but once it’s in your good. Delivery is not quick. It will take a long time to get to you.

I would not purchase this product unless you are taking it to a professional piercer. I am lucky enough to be a tattoo artist who works in a shop with a piercer, so I had access to all the necessary equipment to install this. You will not just need openers for this piece, you will also need closers. Please do not use pliers, you will damage the jewelry and if you install it into your piercing damaged, it can cause micro abrasions that can really hurt you. This is NOT an easy piece of jewelry to open, EVEN AS A PROFESSIONAL. It is not possible to just 'twist it open' and pop the segment in and out, that's not going to happen. Once it is installed into your body, it IS NOT COMING OUT without the proper tools. I actually think it's somewhat irresponsible that non-professionals are allowed to buy things like this that could potentially be dangerous when installed improperly. I would definitely consult with your local piercer prior to purchasing this to see if it's right for you.

I basically had to destroy the thing to open it because I just have apartment tools. It’s decent quality if you can deal with it, the instructions say to just twist it but that’s not actually possible.
