I was looking for a pair of gold earrings that didn't cost a fortune but looked authentic, and these gold vermeil over sterling filigree are exactly what I sought. They are genuine gold over sterling so they are not fakes, and if the gold plating should wear off eventually the silver will still look nice. These pretty earrings are light weight which is a nice quality also. I like these so well that I may order a second pair because I am famous for losing earrings.On edit, in fact I liked these well enough that I ordered and received two more pairs, so now I have enough of these lovely earrings to last me the rest of my lifetime. An attribute I neglected to mention in my original review is that these earrings are very lightweight, and thus comfortable to wear. I'm glad to have these.

These earrings are just what I was looking for to match my tear drop necklace. They are light weight and comfortable to wear without weighting down your ear lobes. They do make my pierced ears itch a little because they are not fully 14kt gold wires. They are plated gold wires. I had to get them because they are so pretty and almost a perfect match for my necklace.

These are so pretty. I lost an earring that is similar to this one and just needed a replacement. I was very pleased when I received them. They were inexpensive, but not cheap looking. They hang nicely and I was glad they had the little plastic backs to keep me from losing them.

These filigree earrings are very shiny and pretty. They are longer than I was expecting (just like another reviewer said) but, that's alright. I gave 4 stars because they aren't as lightweight as I wanted. But, I can wear them. As for the length: the total length is a tiny bit over 1 1/2". Also, the wires are a little on the thick side. I had a bit of a struggle putting them in.My Only Complaint: The delivery driver dropped the package off at my door during a downpour. The package could have been put inside my storm-door or it could have been put into a plastic bag (a previous delivery person had done this). My packages were soaked. The reason I'm placing the complaint here is because it's the only place that I can do so. There isn't a place to do this under the "problems with delivery" section.

For earrings to be solid gold and this big, you'd pay several hundred dollars, so just as with too-large faux or "created" precious gems, the size makes them look cheap/obviously fake unless it is clear from everything else you're wearing that you are truly wealthy. These are a bit too big for everyday wear, even if they were a more believable shade of gold, silver or copper. However, they do look delicate, are probably very thinly sprayed/coated with real gold, like the ad promises, and look just like the picture. The excessive yellow is probably the thinness over the lighter silver metal, or perhaps that 18k gold is brighter than the 14k used for most jewelry. 18k is too soft for most jewelry purposes, and so we are used to seeing duller gold with the real thing. With fake gold, jewelry is super-yellow and shiny and the coating rubs off. I think that real gold coating or not, these would wear through quickly as well. I would try the silver version instead.
