Silver, when exposed to the air will always naturally oxidize, i.e. tarnish. To prevent this your Sterling Silver pendant is protected by a clear coat, baked on, lacquer so it is not in direct contact with the air. To ensure the longevity of this protection you should never use silver cleaning products as they will damage coating. You should also make sure your pendant does not come into contact with harsh household chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, or chlorine.

If you notice any dirt build up over time you can simply wash the jewelry in a mild dish soap, dry off (do not use anything abrasive) and then shine up with a microfiber cloth - like the ones you get with eyeglasses.

As with all fine jewelry, it is highly recommended to not wear your jewelry while showering or swimming - harsh chemicals can damage your jewelry.
