This is a lovely piece of jewelry, just as pictured, and it comes in a nice gift box with a polishing cloth (I'm hoping tarnishing isn't too big a problem, time will tell). The inside wing is slightly difficult to open, but the top one simply falls open all the time now that I've been wearing it for a while, not sure there's anything I can do to fix it, so I took another star off for that reason. It is fairly small and the chain is quite delicate and fairly short (it falls about 2" below my collar bone), so it could be appropriate for a child, but I intend to use it for now and perhaps my daughter will want it when she's older. My mother died last year and I want to put her photo in it. Which brings me to my other complaint, because that is going to be challenging, and that's a pretty big issue for a locket, so I took off a star. A locket typically has space for you to fit the photo underneath, like a little frame to hold it in place, but this has none, the sides of the photo space go straight down to the back. So I plan to use some sort of adhesive. I used my printer to help find the right size to print the picture to cut out the exact shape of that inner heart, and was wearing it with my sample photo on regular paper for a few days but it eventually got lost since the locket flops open and I hadn't used any adhesive. I'll have a tiny photo printed on nice paper and cut it out neatly in precisely that shape, since you'll be able to see all the cut edges, and hope that using the adhesive at least keeps the photo from getting lost. Maybe I can add a little silicone to help the locket stay closed, too Wish me luck!
