I have to admit I was disappointed when I first saw the cross necklace I got. In the product images, the cross looks smoothly sanded and like it has some sort of clear coat finish on it to give it some shine. (You know, what you would usually expect from a piece of wooden jewelry.)When my cross arrived It just looked dull and pale. The wood grain didn't look any different than something you could cut out of a pine 2 x 4 from Home Depot. The cuts on the cross are a bit rough and you can still see the saw marks on the wood. If the cross was sanded at all, it was a very quick rough sanding at best.I have to be honest. This is the least amount of effort I've ever seen put into a piece of wooden jewelry. They didn't even bother to sand smooth the exit hole where the drill went through the cross to make the hole that the thread goes through. You can still see splinters sticking out of the side of the exit hole. The cross smells like olive oil, so I assume that it is real olive wood. I'll probably end up sanding it smooth myself at some point. For the price, I will partially forgive the quality of the craftsmanship, but it is still disappointing nonetheless.

It was authentic and the exact size I wanted- However, the string is low quality and actually broke- now i can’t wear it- The cross is beautiful! Just wish I could- Ya know- wear it!

With beautifully finished wood, soft corded lanyard, and artistic style, this cross would make a wonderful gift for any special man in your life!It is lightweight, durable, large, made from real olive tree wood. and the cord is long and soft around the neck. The grain is beautiful, as is the wood pattern, unique to every cross this company makes.I do wish the shape was a perfect cross, but because these are handmade, you have to understand the slight abnormalities.Thank you for reading my review! Thus cross is a little bit on the large side for my taste but it’s for my husband and all that matters is if he likes it or not. It measures 1.9” x 2.7” and hangs from an adjustable, slide, suede cord that is either 39” or 39.4”. Both lengths are listed in pics that are next to one another at the very top of the online description. I would measure myself but I’m not untying the slider “knot” because I haven’t a clue how to retie it and I’m not ready to learn. This necklace could be worn for any casual occasion but isn’t appropriate in more formal settings in my opinion. It is very lightweight and shouldn’t be uncomfortable to wear.

A bit disappointing... the Cross is poorly finished - not sanded smooth, and the arms are not equal length/symmetrical, giving it an off-center appearance. The "grain" of the wood is not well defined, so it doesn't look nearly as nice as the product photo.

The cross did not look like the picture. No wood grain and most of all a very poorly carved rough and off symmetrically. It looked like someone with poor eyesight carved it. I returned it.
