Arrived open, posts bent. Studs clearly (at least from the back) glued onto the hoop portion. Very lightweight but textured (woven palm and wood), so not really to wear with your hair down. I thought the size was great (see 2nd picture for comparison) and I enjoyed wearing these on the beach to match my palm sun visor. Did not worry about them getting too hot in the sun or tarnishing. Easy to pack and a great choice for a tropical vacation if they can figure out the packaging issues.
