Although I already have a Citizen-Eco drive watch (quite nice, with day-date-month-moon phase) I wanted a day-date model that was easier to read and, being an analog type of guy, decided to purchase a mechanical (self-winding) watch. I first considered Seiko but the ones I liked had a plastic "crystal" and the cases were only 40 mm diameter. I chose the Hamilton model under review because it's Swiss-made with a 25- jeweled movement (that you can view through the back) and has large numerals, a green dial (a personal preference), sapphire glass crystal and 42 mm diameter case (which looks better on my large wrist). I even purchased a watch winder to keep it fully "charged" when I wouldn't be wearing it awhile. The only disappointment is the supplied green nylon-leather watch band, which to me seemed cheap and ugly and also proved too small for my wrist. So I purchased a genuine Hamilton stainless watch bracelet on eBay, the necessary watchband changing tool and substituted it for the original. This replacement band complements the watch beautifully, fits my wrist comfortably and is easy to open and latch. Analog movements are not supposed to be as accurate as digital ones, but this watch gains only a few seconds per week, which I find amazing. Aside from the original band, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend the Hamilton brand for those considering this type of watch mechanism. It may not have the prestige of a Rolex, but it's way less expensive and probably keeps better time!
