This product was purchased for my 12 year old son, so it's no big deal that it was tarnished or discolored a little on the side. The product has a frosted/matte finish on top and semi-gloss finish on the sides (it looks good, otherwise). This is tacky, but I painted it with clear finger nail polish, which deminishes the discoloration, but gave them a high gloss (not really desired). We will get some use out of them. If the product arrives without tarnish, they will actually look as they appear in the picture on this site.

The quality of these button covers is good, but they do not completely separate the way I expected they would. Thus, I am not able to put them on and always have to ask my wife to assist me with this task.
